Mein Name ist Ursula, ich bin am 6. Juni, dem schwedischen Nationalfeiertag, in der Schweiz geboren worden. Am 6. Juni 1954 reiste mein zukünftiger Schwiegervater von Schweden in die Schweiz ein. Ob das meine ewige Sehnsucht nach Skandinavien begründet hat? Ich weiss es nicht – ein schöner Zufall ist es dennoch.

Reisen wollte ich immer, das Fernweh hat mich schon als Kind gepackt, in der Primarschule wuchs in mir der Traum, nach Grönland zu reisen. Als Teenager schwärmte ich von Russland und Schweden. So ist es geblieben: Meine Haupt-Reiserouten sind hauptsächlich nördlich und östlich. Warum auch immer!

Als ich kurz nach meiner Pensionierung mit der ganzen Familie in den schottischen Highlands das Drummond Castle besuchte, sah ich dieses Schild und mein Blogname war gefunden. Schnell sprang ich zu meiner Kollegin  Zanny  Zaum und da ist er nun: mein Blog. Online ist er seit September 2019.

Ich habe viele Jahre Mitteilungsblätter für verschiedene Organisationen geschrieben. Schreiben, Redaktion, Fotografieren und Layout sind meine Leidenschaften.  Ich freue mich, wenn ihr mir folgt und auch hin und wieder Kommentare hinterlässt.

My name is Ursula, I was born in Switzerland on the 6th of June, the Swedish National Day. On the same day my Swedish future father-in-law arrived in Switzerland, to settle down. Did that establish my longing for Scandinavia? I do not know – it is a nice coincidence nevertheless.

I always wanted to travel, the wanderlust had grabbed me as a child,  the dream to travel to Greenland grew when I was in primary school- as a teenager I was fascinated about Russia and Sweden. And the compass of my life still takes me on mainly north and east itineraries . For whatever reason!

When  I visited Drummond Castle with the whole family in the Scottish Highlands shortly after my retirement, I saw the above sign and my blog name was found! I rushed to my colleague Zanny Zaum and here it is: my blog:  online since September 2019.

I have been writing newsletters for various organizations for many years. Writing, editing, photography and layout are my passions. I’d be happy if you follow me and leave a comment from time to time!
